National Football League
Full time Bilingual Copywriter, Localization and Transcreation Lead
In 2017, I joined the NFL’s head office in New York to lead the league’s efforts in localization for the Latin American market in the United States. In this role, I was tasked with and successfully developed the following:
Recognizable taglines for some of the NFL’s flagship social initiatives, like Crucial Catch and, more recently, Inspire Change.
Original ideas and scripts for videos like the one played at the opening of the 2018 Draft. This was a rush job, and I completed the script in a day. I suggested Ray Lewis be the voice talent and supervised his recording session over the phone.
Transcreation of umbrella concepts.
Branding and re-branding options for teams. This one is for when the Chargers moved from San Diego to LA.
Copywriting in the form of slogans, taglines and campaigns for NFL Shop.
Naming options for products, activations, conference rooms in the office, and events featured in the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl.
Various text updates for the decor of our offices in NY.
Naming Vinnie, the virtual assistant for the Super Bowl LIII digital app.
Subtitle translation.
Content creation, quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) for the Mexico Game.
My personal favorite was the challenge of summarizing every Super Bowl to a maximum of 45 words. This was done for the short-lived NFL Experience, an immersive experience into the world of football located in Times Square. I also wrote the texts for every item in the collection.
Not all ideas see the light of day, but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth showing off! These are two t-shirt designs I came up with.
That’s my voice! I recorded the game breaks for the 2018 season.
